I did RESEARCH BEFORE I got my sulcata.

I don't think it matters whether you use a drop bottle or bowl. But don't use tap water it contains chlorine. chlorine kills bacteria. It will kill good bacteria in the piggies gut and that's a major cause of bloat.

You can skip using the metal support bars and use construction glue to adhere the glass to the wood end caps, then use clear caulking to seal it all up nicely. That way, you don't have bars obstructing the view at all :)

You do such a good job! I found 2 hoglets the other day on a grass verge by a road. They were crying out, and they were super cold. So I put them in a box with a towel and thankfully found a local hedgehog rescue woman just like you!!

I bought pro rep substrate which has mix od play soil and top soil along with pure linstone for extra calcium if I jested. Is it safe? I have been told its deadly and my tortoise is coming tomorrow 😢

What if you find a baby hoglett no mother nearby, the animal shelter is not open, middle of the night? What would you do then? Just curious hopefully this wouldn't happen but i do have hedgehogs coming to my garden quite often also have a pond with very steep edges although there is some wood in there so that they can climb out but I still recently found a 1\2month old (I'm guessing) hoglett in the pond dead sadly, we even have a wire mesh over the pond but he still found his way in and sadly drowned, he was in perfect condition when found so hadn't been in there very long was just so so very sad

Does the Hermann need to hibernate as two reptile stores have said no. We were going for a 6ft vivarium so safe from cat and dog. Have been offered a Russian from my friend who is looking at rehoming because goes on frequent holidays but not sure if OK for Russian to be in a vivarium and do they need hibernation. Get told different things. Thanks any advice appreciated please.

All the rescues active on Facebook hedgehog groups actually recommend dry cat food over wet, eating nothing but wet cat food for long periods of time can result in rotted teeth & nothing can be done at that point but to put to sleep, a hedgehog rescue posted one sad story about the dangers of feeding nothing but wet cat/dog food as that's exactly what one person had done for their visiting hedgehogs & one ended up with rotted teeth as a result, the act of chewing the dry food helps keep their teeth clean. You should also be wearing gloves when handling them a lot, I'm surprised the rescue you dealt with didn't make you aware of that. Regarding milk, I would of mentioned in the video that drinking it can actually kill them or at the very least make them very ill as they're lactose intolerant.

I rescued a guinea pig but her legs are disfigured (not too bad) from a previous injury with the last owner and i live in a small town without an exotics vet. She pees on herself becausr of her bad legs but i always clean her up with a dam0 cloth. Is there anything else i should do?
